This is a very early flight and therefore you have got to be prompt at check in. From here, we shall transfer westwards to Kisoro where we shall meet the driver guide waiting to pick you from the airfield. We shall drive from Kisoro town to the hotel for check in and relax. As we drive to the hotel, the colorful markets, the women carrying baskets, the mountainous town, the view of the 8 volcanoes and the Mutanda lake will leave us enthralled. Kisoro is one of the most beautiful places that I have visited in Uganda and most of our guests will attest to this. It is also the town closest to Rwanda and the border is a stone throw away.

Today is the day we have all been anticipating to encounter. It is a day for the exhilarating mountain Gorilla experience. Having got our cameras well charged in the lodge last night, we are sure to take lovely shots as we come eye to eye with the Mountain gorillas.
We shall drive out after breakfast, to the park headquarters. Bwindi impenetrable National park is home to more than half the world’s population of Mountain Gorillas. It is situated along the Democratic Republic of Congo border next to the Virunga National Park in Rwanda and on the edge of the western Great Rift valley. It is also on the UNESCO list of world heritage sights. It is home to 350 bird species, 51 reptile species, other primate species though not habituated and so many trees species and ferns.
On reaching there, we shall be briefed and a specialized tour guide will take us into the rain forest to search for one of the families of Mountain Gorillas. It is recommended however, that we do not use flash photography during the viewing exercise, to remain calm at a distance of 7m away from the gorillas, have strong walking shoes and also a good walking stick to enable us navigate the thick forest. We shall view the gorillas for a maximum of one hour and then find our way back to the briefing point.

Today we rest and take time to have a walk to a neighboring village to learn a bit about the Ugandan society particularly in the Southwest. A specialized guide will take us on this walk and later have a boat cruise on the beautiful Lake Mutanda. We shall hear stories about formation of this lake and the history of the various islands on it. We have a point to hop off and spend some time on one of the islands. It is after this that we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
