Jinja is located 60 km east of Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. It is known as the East African capital of tourism. Jinja is endowed with various sights and sceneries which makes the trip worth your while. Here, you will find the source of the Nile, the World’s longest river running alongside the Mississipi in the USA.
It is the centre of production for most of Uganda’s hydroelectric power and offers adrenaline jerking activities such as bungee jumping and white water rafting. Details below show the various activities you will enjoy during your short trip to this town of never ending fun.
Day 1: Travel to Jinja through Mabira and visit the source of the Nile
Your Ntungo Wildlife Safaris guide will pick you from your hotel to embark on a journey to Jinja through Mabira forest. Mabira forest is Uganda’s largest tropical rain forest originally at 300 square km. It habors a number of animals which include the gray mangabey, black and white colubus monkeys which you are bound to encounter on your nature walk in the forest. You will then take part in ziplining activities at 40m tree tops for a distance of 200 metres. From here, you will continue on your way to the Source of the Nile where you will have a late lunch before heading out on a short boat ride to the “source” while listening to stories from the local tour guide. You will crown your day with an evening of relaxation around a camp fire and dinner before retiring to bed.

Day 2: White water rafting and travel back to Kampala.
Today after a healthy breakfast of choice, you will go out for your activity of the day, white water rafting. This, you will do on the massive rapids of the Nile, a once in a lifetime kind of activity.
You will spend the rest of your morning and afternoon out in the water. You will break off for a late lunch and then embark on your journey back to Kampala. Enjoy the beautiful sights on your way back.
You will check into your Kampala lodge as you wind your 2 day trip.
